Trump’s Endless Kowtowing Tour Continues Uninterrupted
As you know, Highly Disputed Heavyweight Champion Donald “Pantywaist” Trumpkov has responded to a direct question about the Hong Kong protesters by crawling all the way across the Pacific Ocean in a championship-caliber grovel to Xi Jinping, begging Xi on live television to forgive him for having no choice but to publicly express a marginal, insincere bit of backhanded damning-with-faint-praise sympathy with those damn protesters, whom he simultaneously demeaned as “rioters,” just to make sure there would be no doubt in Xi’s or any other rational listener’s mind that he, Trump, is the biggest coward ever to play “leader of the free world” on Twitter.
The reason he groveled so impressively was that he was under immediate pressure from Congress to sign a resolution supporting the “rioters,” a bill that he knew every single human being on the planet who was not a member of his cult or an apologist for communist totalitarianism would have signed in a heartbeat, so he was extra eager to reassure the Communist Party that even if he did sign the Marx-forsaken thing when it arrived on his desk, it sure wasn’t because he believed in it or wasn’t a friend and admirer of good old-fashioned tyranny of the sort Xi represents.
And so sure enough, two related bills did arrive, and Trump, as optics demanded, did sign them, in spite of all his more craven instincts. And lo and behold, the idiots who call themselves the conservative media are singing hosannas about their Coward King’s “major rebuke” to China.
Um, sure. And here is how their hero, “Pantywaist” Trumpkov, explained his signage of the bills, for the signing of which he had already publicly begged for Xi’s forgiveness in advance on live television:
“I signed these bills out of respect for President Xi, China, and the people of Hong Kong. They are being enacted in the hope that Leaders and Representatives of China and Hong Kong will be able to amicably settle their differences leading to long term peace and prosperity for all,” Trump said in a statement.
If you can read that statement three times, and yet continue to call Trump’s act a “major rebuke” to China, then congratulations! You’ve just become an honorary regional vice-president of the Trump Cult!
He signed it “out of respect for President Xi” and “China” — and oh, yeah, also the people of Hong Kong. Because he hopes they will all be able to “settle their differences,” which is what we all hope for when a totalitarian giant is trying to subdue a tiny and defenseless independence-minded city-state, isn’t it?
This “president” just gets punier and punier every day, doesn’t he? (That’s “huger and huger” for those of you in the cult, of course.)
So much for Americans to be thankful for this year.
