Is Rudy Working for the Other Side?
I don’t know what “the other side” would be in this case, or in what possible way Rudy Giuliani’s complete and utter incompetence and bald-faced lying could be of any help to “them,” but it’s just getting weird at this point.
Patterico — one of the only people left in America’s “conservative media” who didn’t sell his soul for audience and money (so of course he got fired from his main job in the “conservative media” at RedState) — has a good synopsis of Giuliani’s latest rhetorical catastrophe, to which I refer you if you are the kind of person who enjoys a good train wreck.
Here’s my favorite bit of Rudy-Frutti so far, from his latest New Yorker interview:
Saying things for Trump, not always being truthful about it—do you ever worry that this will be your legacy? Does that ever worry you in any way?
Absolutely. I am afraid it will be on my gravestone. “Rudy Giuliani: He lied for Trump.” Somehow, I don’t think that will be it. But, if it is, so what do I care? I’ll be dead. I figure I can explain it to St. Peter. He will be on my side, because I am, so far . . . I don’t think, as a lawyer, I ever said anything that’s untruthful.
According to a headline I just read somewhere, Trump is supposedly “frustrated” with Giuliani’s gaffes. I imagine he would be! “Hey, he’s stealing all my best bits!”
