According to a U.S. Navy source speaking anonymously due to being unauthorized to talk about it — doesn’t that fill you with confidence, military officers skulking around “informing” for the media like rogue bureaucrats? — there is an American strike force moving toward the Korean peninsula, as a warning to Kim Jong-Un. This is a brilliant bit of anonymous sourcing, as it provides the North Koreans with ample opportunity to propagandize the U.S. as aggressors and provocateurs, not to mention provoking anti-American fever among the Korean and wider Asian left.

Why not just position your forces quietly, and let Kim’s government figure out what it means on their own?
